The Summer Corset by NYLA
Jenna O’Brien longs for a simpler time, and not just a time when her parents were still married and her mom less bitter, but a time when corsets and courting couples were as common as Snapchatting. Given her preference for the 19th century over the 21st, Jenna is excited to spend her last summer before college in period dress and petticoats interning as a living historian at a little-known Detroit fort. However, managing both life in 1864 and in the present is proving to be more complicated than she originally anticipated. Faced with friendships falling apart, her father's affair, and the possibility of falling in love, Jenna has to decide who she wants to be and realize that perhaps by looking to the past, she’s been avoiding her future.
